Two Cities - Venice & Tokyo

During various travels abroad Maggy Milner has collected a series of panoramic photographs. From these she has selected images Venice and Tokyo which sit well together by the dramatic contrasts in building styles and materials and way of life, Her interests lie, not in the glamourous “post card view” but in the banal and the common place.
In these images the ordinary rubs shoulders with the unexpected; nothingness takes on significance; the overlooked becomes exceptional. Interest is in the detail; the flakey pipe, the coloured plaster, the discarded chair.......... The location is less important but the eccentricities of human behaviour shine through.
